The Mobile Health Clinic in Kamwenge $15,000 The main objective of the mobile clinic is to “Save a life”. Problem statement: There is no single Hospital in Kamwenge district in a population of 300,000 leading to many untreated people suffering from strange diseases without treatment or getting opportunity to see a Doctor or any other trained medical personnel. It is so sad that many people with HIV/ AIDS, Elephantiasis, River blindness, Bilharzia, Malaria, etc get so ill at home and often die because they cannot access or even afford to go to the Health clinic for treatment. Children under the age of five years and pregnant women die the most. Treatment centers are so few and far in between in a radius of about five and ten Kilometers. Most times these few health units run out of medicine. Due to the extreme Poverty, many of the sick cannot afford to raise money to transport themselves for treatment or surgery. Proposed short term solution: A simple mobile clinic with a Clinical officer on a Motorcycle and a trunk of Medicine can save lives of people who otherwise would have died at home in their villages/ communities without any help. The Clinical Officer will ride to different villages on appointed and agreed on days and locations and will examine/ review and treat the sick people
